Taking A Moment to Express Gratitude

On today of all days, two words take center stage: THANK YOU. We say it caringly to loved ones and to strangers for bagging our groceries. Even on bad days, we muster up the energy to say THANK YOU when someone holds the elevator door from slamming in our face.

But not all THANK YOUs are genuine. What about the sarcastic THANK YOU to the jerk who cut you off in traffic or the one you sent in the email to the job you just applied for and got rejected from?

We’ve all been in our fair share of situations that suck. But after the passing of time, we gain the perspective to look at what went down differently.

Practicing equanimity- the calmness of the mind- takes patience. This virtue helps us respond to life’s fluctuations with spaciousness and a stillness of time. To cultivate equanimity lower stress levels and you’ll feel genuine happiness by expressing gratitude, both during the good and bad moments.

In hindsight, we are now grateful for the venue that rejected our proposal a year ago. It pushed us to improve quicker than we may have otherwise. Those corporate bosses that yelled at us? They, too, helped us realize what we didn’t want for ourselves. Had we not experienced these “negative” moments, we may not have quit our jobs to start this company.

Perception is a choice, something YOU can control. The learning curve is different for all of us, but if you practice gratitude, you will practice love.

THANK YOU for being part of our community and for helping make this dream a reality.

We wish you love, light and peace as you embrace a day of thanks with family and friends. May today, as in all days, be filled with gratitude and joy as you embrace a new perspective.

Cheers+Namaste,

Christy and Ashley
