Favorite yoga pose & why:

Legs-Up-The-Wall / Viparita Karani.  Anyone who has taken class with me knows legs up the wall is my Savasana- it is the ultimate restorative pose.  It signifies that all of the physical exertion is over.  As the lactic acid drains from my legs, it is the few quiet moments I have to prepare my body and my mind to step off my mat and back into life.

Most challenging yoga pose for you & why:

Pigeon / Eka Pada Rajakapotasana. Pigeon is challenging for me because I have very tight hips. When I first started practicing yoga, I could not even sit on my outer hip without tensing my entire body.  Because pigeon is so challenging, it is hard for me to just be. Every time, my mind screams “get me out of here.”  For me, pigeon is the ultimate example of the connection between the mind and the body and how one can use the physical body to access the mind.

Hobbies or other things you like to do:

Snow and water ski, running, triathlons, traveling
